Milan update #10

I forgot to mention, but Paul got an Xmas pressie this year of a new, yes Nikon, camera.  Its a great compact camera as you can all see.  Its sensor, for the geeks, is 14MP... and yes that is larger than my SLR :D

The new camera also has a high speed mode which the boy put to the test by shooting these trams in the middle of Milan!  The things you see.... I recon Perth needs something like this!

:D

Thats the Milan trip over and done with... 2 days, 4 with travel... and he's back... but like the Indiana Jones Movies, where is he off to next!

This time, museums and modern architecture..... well not good architecture.  From the courtyard of museum this view can be seen... it looks like a building tacked on to the top of the other one... and the contrast between the museums architecture is startling... what do you think?

Milan update #6

So the meeting functions where held in the National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinici.

From the museum .... founded in 1953, we are now the largest science and technology museum in Italy.

The Museum is housed in an early 16th century Olivetan monastery and is named after Leonardo da Vinci, the extraordinary Renaissance intellect who mastered art, science and technology. Through the years we have collected and exhibited objects, machinery and evidence that retrace the key phases of our country’s scientific and technological evolution.
The educational activities developed in our collections and interactive labs (i.labs) engage visitors in exciting experiences that lead to the discovery and exploration of science. Our aim is to help people develop an interest in technology, share a passion for science and discover the fascinating nature of the past. We are a centre for debate and research, a lively meeting place and an active laboratory where innovative cultural projects and management methodologies are constantly investigated.

Milan update #3

So out and about.  He arrived first thing in the morning, and had a few hours to kill before the meeting started.

He grabbed the other lads and went into town for a coffee and a look around the main square.

Here, the main square and the local Cathedral, which had its first stone laid in 1386.
