"tröllatré blóm"

Walking through Kings Park Botanical Gardens during spring is always a treat.  The native wildflowers are amazing and diverse.  This one is just a pink eucalyptus just starting to bloom.

Photowalk scouting I

This next series of images was taken from a scouting walk I was doing to an upcoming photowalk planned for January 2013.  With me on the walk was Morgan, who also had his camera with him, though I've yet to see his images (hint, hint).

First image is from the centre of the city, almost opposite the Apple Store, its the Rydges Hotel on Hay Street.  Its iconic front façade is striking and bold, and the spring sunlight just set it off really well.  Rather than the classic front on  shot, I decided to got with framing it on an angle to get a bit of interest across the image. Enjoy.

Skater dudes in three segments

Big of a change today from some of the new Bali series.  This one was taken before we went up to Bali, in fact it was some rainy, cloudy day in downtown Perth.  I was caught but the sequence of these guys zooming back and forth between the columns and managed to capture a shot with them in each archway.

Enjoy.

Now black and white is something that I dont often shoot... but I really like these two images as black and whites.  Taking from the last photowalk around Perth CBD. more to come

'X' marks the spot...

Yes, I know, this is similar to an image I posted recently... but... this one started me off on another project.  The alphabet in images and form.  This one, yes, X.  I'm still going on the project...but it should be good when it is finished.

in the car park....

Another find on a personal photowalk... in a desolate (second time I have used that word in two posts!) and derilict part of Perth, in a disused church car park.  I was taken by the light hitting the grass seed heads... hmmm... reminants of a warm summer day.

criss-cross

On a personal photowalk I came across this scene.  I was captured by the light and contrast.  Just the right moment and the right place and time.  Very little post processing... the contrast was all there.
