Anthrium's
... the new precious....
those bloody zombie's!
Well as most of you know, Perth can be a little quiet and a little on the crazy side all in the same moment. But luckily our local government agency lets us know at night time when the zombies are out so you can wind up the windows of your car as you drive past. A genuinely nice community support service. Oh you thinking I"m kidding? You don't know Perth obviously!
... thanks for the heads up Courtney :D

Ok, another diver for you... this time Cal
Had a great session with Cal doing this shot. I was hard to pick which one I preferred. I may show you the other pick at the end of the series. Cal was a natural in front of the camera, relaxed and composed. I on the other hand was in the water, with a very expensive camera and an inner ear problem! Luckily the camera and I survived, and Cal looks great. HDND.
Jay under the shower....
Now back in September last year I posted this shot, well a screen capture of my monitor. It is one of my favourites, so I thought I would share what the final image looked like. I'm really happy with it, and Jay was an absolute tropper... that shower was a cold shower, and we were outside, in winter, and he didn't complain once! HDND! Anyways, enjoy.
Black exotica
Something a little different. As most of you would know I like my colour and contrast however in looking at this image I was struck not by the colour, but by the pattern, structure and form. So the challenge was to look at this in a different way. I don't normally do black and white, but I like this.
OK - changed my mind.... a reprint
Classic pink
Pleasure -> this way....
... the modern day, mid-life crisis toy...
So for those of you who we know closely, you will know that we have been ntaken by the bicycle thing recently. Current we are weekend warriors, but Paul is now up to 95kms a ride! Anyhoo to feed this latest obsession we recently got some lovely new bikes, and as someone remarked to us (Nicholas I think it was you), that these are the new mid-life crisis toy... but boy they are sweet nonetheless... :D
Now I have a challenge to fit into lycra!

Interview with me on RAW/Tristan Jud Photography
I was recently humble to be asked to do an interview about my journey in photography by local photographer Tristan Jud. It was a huge blast as I hadn't done anything like this before, but also very enjoyable at the same time. My aim was that I wanted to let upcoming pro photographers know that there are lots of different was we can get to becoming a professional, and also if there was a chance for me to do it all over again what would be some of the things I wish I knew now.
Anyway a big blast... and this was how Tristan introduced me....
"You can meet some amazing people on the Internet. Kingsley lives in Perth, he takes amazing fine art photographs and portraits, not to mention he is always up for giving good solid advice to people who ask. Check out his work and connect with him on his various social networks. "

Thank you very much Tristan... would be a blast to do it again sometime... oh and thank you for the very kind words.
a black and white from the Peony series

the local cat finds our fishtank....
OK, anyone who knows me knows that I'm a dog person... not as cool on cats... but we have a little neighbourhood cat who comes visiting most days. If the door is open she comes in, wanders around, goes upstairs, says hello, then leaves.
Well on Saturday this changed for some reason... she has been coming around for a year or so, and on Saturday she was wandering around whilst Paul and I were on our laptops in the kitchen, and she all of a sudden discovers the fish-tank.
What did she do. She assumed the position, staring at the fish, whilst her tail was whipping back and forth.
Then a few moments later... I noticed the clown loaches (orange and black stripe fish) were eyeing of the cat... the game was on! For the next 30min the big clown loach was swimming up and down the tank and when it couldn't see the cat, it would come up to the edge of the tank and look for the cat. Cat would relocate to where the fish was, tail whipping in increasing frenzy.
Next thing I hear is the cat jumping up and down. I turn around to find this.
She and the clown loach are now playing tag! So I grabbed the V1 and snapped a few shots of this game going on... for the last three nights... she comes to play with her new friend.
cute little chap...
Back in 2006 I had a quick visit to Northam for work. After doing my thing at the hospital, the boss and I headed down to the local footy club for a drink. This little chap was clambering all over the furniture to try and get in the shot... and I finally got one of him. Just makes you smile. Here's the start of the week and new adventures ahead.
