and another church...
The Acropolis...
... then the changing of the guard...
So we took a snap of the boys out the front and then recommenced our walk up the hill to the museum, then all of a sudden these guards appear and they do a changing of the guard outside the Presidents residence... well it was the most elaborate and complicated thing I have seen in ages, with funny foot positions, feet flicking, tap dancing (well they had taps on their shoes) and high kicks... I swear!
On to the Olympic Stadium
Athens - 22 June More Ruins
OK an early morning start to try and beat the heat. This time we only staggered across the road from the hotel to a ruin. I can't recall now but I think its the Temple to Zeus. The orginal building had 150 colums, 17m high and about 1.5m in diameter... very impressive structure. Now one of the columns fell over in the 1860's following a storm.
on the way back to the hotel...
Acropolis part II
So did the early morning start work?
did ya notice....
did you notice that evryone was looking a tad warm in those last shots! It was about 45C.
In search an airconditioned museum...
Athens - June 22 - Up, up and away....
OK second day in Athens turned out to be VERY interesting. The first thing we did was had a look at a private jet which my sister Denae crew's for.
Thats her looking glamourious as always.
Oh, now have you ever wondered what was in the rear wheel arches of a plane... here you go!
Due to security issues we are unable to show you the interior of the plane (but it was very impressive!!)
And a very special thank you to Captain and crew who came out to show us around, it was very kind of you guys. Thank you Nils, Steve and Scott.
Athens - 21 June The Park
Rome 19 June - Villa D'este at Tivoli
Rome - 16 June Hadrian's Villa
OK, it was a bloody hot day and we decided to take a visit out to the outskirts of Rome, and hopefully somewhere cooler. Oh we were wrong about the temperature, but the ruins were spectacular! Emperor Hadrian built this place as his summer palace... its very very grand. Whilst it was very hot we got a couple of shots for you.
First is an overview of the site. Next just some of the statues that were found at the ruins...most of them have been destroyed or stolen. Next is one from down by the pool. And the last is of Tivoli from Harian's Villa, our next stop.
Some spare photos from Rome
Now in Thailand...
We have now arrived in Thailand. And after a great nights sleep we are now ready to have a hard day by the pool! Photos of the resort to come!
On the way - back in Athens
OK, up at the crack of dawn, and now back at Athens. A 10 hour wait till our flight to Frankfurt.
ok...just about to head to Thailand
It could be a bit risky as we just went to a local taverna for dinner... but what the heck.
Conference-wise, its been a bit interesting - intellectually Paul says it was good, but with an average of four power outages a day the conference center was VERY hot. Whilst by the pool, its been lovely! Well after we moved hotels!
Yes, yes, yes, I have done more than laying by the pool... well a little bit more, well, the main sights and ruins of Kos, I'll do photos and a bit of an update when we get to Thailand or maybe even from Frankfurt.
Later all... miss ya all heaps
.... is that my tummy grumbling... oh god! gotta go!

a road, a bush, and a ruin...
OK, this is a test video... primarily cause I meant to take a pic, but the video selector was on. This is a snippet on the road down from Tivoli looking out at Hadrians Villa... an old Roman ruin. More later
