Spring Coral
Over the last few weeks it had been getting colder and colder, and all of a sudden, a bit of warmth and the all the deciduous trees burst into life. The great thing about where we live is we are in an old neighbourhood with lots of mature flowering trees. This tree below is our neighbours, and when it comes into flower all the birds come from everywhere to break their winter fast. Always an awesome sight.

A day with Jaime Ibarra
Wow!... what an amazing day. I had the pleasure of spending the day via a G+ Hangout with photograpger extraordinaire Jaime Ibarra (https://plus.google.com/113464569897311842405).
For those photographer buddies on my page, I would highlyecommend that you spend some time looking at Jaime's work, and if at all possible doing a tutorial with him. His knowledge, skill and expertise, is very impressive. What I also like about Jaime is that he is just the nicest guy, truly gifted and willing to share with his knowledge.
Awesome... :D
Spring is in the air
Well the weather done here in Perth is starting to warm up ... last night it was even 10C. Anyway, the spring flowers are on there way, with a couple of early starters. This is a recent shot from a photowalk I did whilst the lad was out on the bike... I'm still not allowed back on the bike... soon though.
Damien and surfboard II
This image was part of the initial shoot I did with Damien. I really enjoy working with Damien as we have a good understanding of what we are trying to achieve and is very focused in crafting a great image. This image wasn't part of my initial selects but the other night I was looking through the shoot and came across this one again and really like it. This time though, rather that developing the image like I usually do, I decided on a softer, more muted interpretation. I really like it.
Chill from my buddies at Faded+Blurred
I am so excited to tell you about this. Jeffery and Nikki from Faded+Blurred have been work on this project for many months. They have picked a great subject, and probably one of the most difficult photographic food subject to shoot. The topic... Ice-cream. They have spent many months working and refining on the recipes and the imagery and have produced an outstanding e-book that I highly recommend. The eBook is 60+ pages of delicious recipes and divine imagery. Am I waxing lyrical about this? Well maybe, and the guys are selling the eBook for $5.00 here, which I personally think is outrageously cheap. Anyhow, if you love the ice cream then you will want to have this in your cookbooks. Also if you are into photography you may also enjoy the rest of their site, which focuses more on the art than gizmo's of photography. Highly recommended.

Yellow brush
Today, something a little different. On Sunday I went out for a photowalk whilst the boy was out riding (he did 90kms). I came across this 'thing' whilst out and about, and was very intrigued by what I saw. Initially it looked like matches that had been stuck into something with the end slightly split. I had some difficultly trying to render the image the way I was initially taken by 'it'. Finally I decided on a macro lens, my favourite at the moment is the 105mm f2.8, hand held at 1/60, IS0320, f9.5. The object... one of my favourite subjects... flower. It is an Australian native of some type. If anyone knows what it is, please drop me a line.

Dark and stormy with Damien....
I haven't released this image before. It is one of a series I did a my buddy Damien. As I have said in multiple posts, Damien is just a pleasure to work with... he gets my vision and is the consummate professional... and a really awesome guy. This one was meant to be in front of a sunset that never eventuated.... but what happened was the sky went immediately dark and moody. A quick change to the lighting and this was the outcome. A bit of desaturation and detail extraction to gain a bit of 'grittiness'. Enjoy.

and a pink one....
a little green and gold...
The last post was "Red Fan", this one is a Little Green and Gold. I have been taken by texture and colour recently. This image is another recent aerial image whilst I was up visiting Nicholas, Juddy and Puds. I love the texture, I love the complexity and the intricate nature of the landscape. Yes, it is a landscape. However this image looks like it could be a tissue section or a macrophotograph. I have one more in the series after this one. Enjoy. Hasta luego.
